With the gong of Zhang Zijian, a master of jasmine tea craftsmanship inheritance in Fuzhou, the Fuzhou Spring Tea Mining Festival was launched.

Located in Huanxi Town, Fuzhou City, Chunlun Tea Garden is an important traditional ecological tea base in Fujian Province. On the same day, tens of thousands of acres of tea fields were shrouded in mist. Tea farmers in Fuzhou performed the ritual of “calling out to the mountains” according to the ancient system. Zhang Zijian sang the tea picking tune in Fuzhou dialect, and the tea picking guests all over the mountain responded “Ya Ba” (Fuzhou dialect, which means “good”) one by one. The scene was filled with spring scenery and beaming with joy.

The annual jasmine tea spring gathering has been held for ten years. This year’s spring picking especially attracted many young “tea guests” to come, they dressed in Han costumes, She Minority Phoenix costume, etc., on the back of tea picking bamboo baskets, experience the fun of tea picking.

In the sightseeing tea garden, in addition to the “new products” such as instant tea, scented tea essential oil and handmade soap on display at the scene, some jasmine dragon balls and jasmine black tea with high quality and small quantity have also become sought-after goods. Huang Yuzhen, a 27-year-old female tourist from Heilongjiang province, said she felt drinking scented tea was “very delicate”.

“In recent years, jasmine tea consumer groups have become younger and younger, with the characteristics of Internet economic interest, personality, interests and interaction.” Organizers, Fujian Spring Lun Tea Group Co., Ltd. Chairman Fu Tianlong told reporters.

Fu Tianlong said that the rise of tea travel has gathered young consumer groups, and the drastic change of Internet sales model has also brought new increment to the Jasmine tea consumption market. In the post-epidemic period, its tea companies have made a comprehensive layout of e-commerce live broadcasting, breaking the traditional domestic sales channels of traditional chain stores, e-commerce and wholesale markets, and being accepted by more local young people.

At present, Fujian tea industry is actively exploring the integrated development of primary, secondary and tertiary industries. In 2020, Fuzhou, as one of the four major scented tea producing areas, will issue “Nine Teas” to support the development of jasmine tea industry, to make up for the shortcomings of technology, facilities, marketing and so on, and promote the integration of the three industries.

“Rural cultural tourism with the theme of ‘tea’ needs more creative input from young people, and also needs to pay more attention to young consumer groups.” Chen Qi, president of the Fuzhou Strait Tea Industry Exchange Association, said that rural revitalization encourages the characteristic rural industries of one village and one product, enabling the upgrading of the traditional tea industry. It is a feasible direction for Fuzhou scented tea industry to explore the combination of tea travel and explore the ecological leisure function of tea gardens.

“Spring tea is the memory and nostalgia of tea people of my generation when they were young. I also hope to attract more and more young people to walk into the tea garden and feel the countryside.” Fu Tianlong said. (after)
