Nanchang, March 21 (Xinhua/Xiong Jialin) Jiang Jinchun, 43, from Xinhuangzhangshuanshanhuanglinchang Zaotian village in Hengfeng county, Shangrao city, Jiangxi province, is a web celebrity “blogger” with more than 2 million followers. He sells local specialties such as fish soaked in oil, dried bamboo shoots and dried pumpkin through live broadcast on his mobile phone. He sells delicious food from the deep mountains to the table in the city and helps the villagers to become rich and increase their income.
“Brother people, our mountain dried bamboo shoots are pure handmade, soaked after cut into bamboo shoots, and fried together with pork belly, delicious!” As Jiang explains, he demonstrates how to cook dried bamboo shoots in front of the camera. With popular “red hearts” and barrages popping up in the studio, the produce Mr. Jiang collected from the village quickly sold out.

In his early years, Jiang Jinchun raised bees and delivered couriers. By chance, he got in touch with online e-commerce. With the rise of live with goods in recent years, lively and cheerful character of Jiang Jinchun and turned into a main broadcast with goods. He told reporters that in the past, people selling goods in the mountains can only carry baskets to sell, because of traffic congestion, inconvenient access, a lot of high-quality agricultural products are “kept in the boutiques do not know.”

Zhou Huaping, a 75-year-old deaf-mute, lives alone in Zaotian Village. He sells dried bamboo shoots and broomsticks to make a living. A live broadcast by Jiang Jinchun can help Zhou Huaping sell dried bamboo shoots for a month.
Jiang often goes from house to house carrying a laundry list of dried pumpkins, bamboo shoots and kudzu roots, or simply sets up a mobile phone stand to broadcast live on farmers’ doorsteps. In 2020, Jiang sold six tons of dried bamboo shoots alone, helping farmers around him to ease the “difficulty” of selling agricultural products in the mountains.
Jiang said he would set up a broadcast room for villagers who needed help, hoping to get more of their produce out of the mountains through his broadcast.

In addition, Jiang Jinchun, an online farmer, is still “upgrading”. He, his mother and his wife set up a small live streaming team. Now Jiang Jinchun’s wife serves as the director and scriptwriting director. He and his mother appear on camera to sell the “taste” of rural areas through small sitcoms, and use the “short video + live broadcast” mode to bring the village to more netizens “in front of”.
Jiang said he hopes his short videos can arouse the audience’s feelings about the countryside, let more people know about the delicious mountain food, and lead the villagers to get rich and earn more money together.
