Zhang Bangxin: Science and technology make education more warm

On April 9, the first “Emotion Yuanshan Education Charity Sharing Festival” was held in Beijing. Well-known education experts from Peking University and 21st Century Education Research Institute, as well as prominent guests from government, enterprises, media, charitable organizations, research institutions and other fields, had wonderful sharing and discussion on the topic of “Education Tomorrow”.

Mr. Zhang Bangxin, Founder and CEO of Good Future Group, made a speech at the sharing ceremony, calling on everyone to pay attention to education in rural areas and work together to promote the realization of education equity.

Educate public welfare and help the poor with intellectual aid

First of all, thank you very much for your support to qingsyuanshan charity foundation, and welcome to the “qingsyuanshan first education charity sharing”.

As one of the founders of the Emotion Yuanshan Foundation, I especially want to thank all of you for your company over the years. Participants in the first phase of the Gratitude Foundation, in particular, not only contributed, but also spent time, thought and wisdom on the Qingyuanshan Foundation. Time, energy and thought are more valuable than money.

Since its establishment in 2018, the Qingyuanshan Foundation has been committed to providing support to teachers, students and schools in remote areas by relying on the technology of Internet + education, using double-teacher classes, teacher training and AI classes. We hope to do our best to promote the realization of educational equity, so that the imbalance in education will no longer be an obstacle to the growth of some children. We have used intellectual aid to help the poor, and empowering education to do a good job.

A Tibetan student’s journey to realize his dream

Here I would like to tell you a story. There was a little girl named Renqing Zhuoma in Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province. Her dream was to study law, be a judge or a lawyer.

The gaokao is not an easy task for ethnic minority girls like Zhuoma, who not only have to answer the exam in Chinese, but also have to take the exam in English. But Zhuoma’s area lacks high-quality English teaching resources for middle schools, which has become an obstacle for her and her classmates to realize their dreams.

In 2019, the Etique-Yuanshan Foundation opened dual English classes for many western regions. Such classes have also come to Tongren Middle School, where Zhuoma works. Yin Chaoyang, a teacher from Yuanshan Charity Foundation, and Mr. Nuo Ri, a teacher from Zhuoma, worked together to provide English classes that are more suitable for the students to prepare for the college entrance examination.

Zhuoma likes Miss Yin’s class very much. She is very active in learning, making progress smoothly and gaining confidence. She makes a little progress every day. After the gaokao, she received an offer from the law department of Nanchang University.

We are very happy to see these children change their lives through learning and truly benefit from the public welfare of education. Now Renqing Zhuoma is a first-year law student. Although she still finds it a little difficult to have her teachers teach her in English, she is confident and no longer doubts about her ability to learn English as she did two years ago.

Zhuoma’s story is not unique. In 2020, four more students in Zhuoma’s original school benefited from the dual-teacher English course and were successfully admitted to their favorite university and dream major.

Technology makes education more warm

In China, there are many schools like Tongren Middle School, where students in remote areas are often weak in some subjects and need help and support. Every public education project, once in place, will change the life path of many children and the process of becoming successful.

Three years ago, when teacher Yu Minhong and I discussed the idea of setting up public welfare projects, we began to think that there are many organizations and people engaged in public welfare undertakings. As an educational organization, we can actually enlarge quality resources through the combination of technology and education, as well as through the carriers of double-teacher and AI courses.

So what we are looking forward to is this: technology to make education more temperature. Through the perfect combination of the two, let us lower the threshold of high-quality education, so that all students, regardless of the region and the gap between rich and poor, can cross the threshold, learn together, grow together, this is the fairness of education.

The year 2020 is an extraordinary year. The COVID-19 epidemic has hit the world, and the world has experienced profound changes unseen in a century. Our education colleagues with feelings and beginner’s mind also encountered many difficulties in this year, but we persisted for the sake of our students. The vast number of educators have worked hard on the two fronts of fighting the epidemic and suspending classes, protecting the physical and mental health of hundreds of millions of students, supporting the world’s largest online education, and making important contributions to the fight against the epidemic and the comprehensive and orderly resumption of teaching.

We have not only met the challenges, but also taken up our responsibilities. There are many members of the EtioYuanshan Charity Foundation, such as New Oriental, Shute Storytelling, Love of Learning, etc. All of them provide free teaching and service resources to the society as soon as possible. At the beginning of the epidemic, Good Future opened its online teaching system, such as live streaming cloud, to help tens of thousands of schools, institutions and 140,000 teachers overcome the crisis.

Education is the hope of millions of families, and there is still a long way to go to achieve universal education in remote areas. How to provide better quality and more equitable education for children in more remote areas is an important issue facing educators.

My colleagues and friends, from poverty alleviation to rural revitalization, let us join hands to pay long-term attention to rural education, help rural education, help rural teachers, benefit rural students, so that the countryside will be revitalized by education, so that every child will have a better tomorrow.
