From October 11 to 12, the 2021 China IPv6 Innovation and Development Conference with the theme of “Enabling Innovation, Building a Foundation for the Future” was held in Beijing. The conference released 100 outstanding “IPv6 large-scale deployment and application cases” in the whole industry. With its leading technical strength and practical effect, Wangju Technology was selected as the “Application infrastructure category” IPv6 large-scale deployment and application cases.
In the context of the new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation, Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) is the basic support for the construction of a network power. The development of IPv6 is of great significance for promoting the evolution and upgrading of the Internet and supporting high-quality economic development. The number of active IPv6 connections in China reached 1.15 billion by the end of 2020, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
At the meeting, Han Xia, chief engineer of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, pointed out that China currently leads the world in the scale of IPv6 network infrastructure, and the number of IPv6 address resources that have been applied ranks first in the world. In the next step, all parties in the industry need to work together to do a good job in three aspects. First, accelerate the scale of deployment, improve service capacity, and jointly promote the deepening transformation of IPv6 in cloud, management, terminal and application. Second, deepen integrated application, empower the development of the industry, and encourage the information and communication industry to carry out IPv6 collaborative innovation in a wider range and at a deeper level with the financial, education, medical, energy and other industries. Third, we will make breakthroughs in innovation, improve the industrial ecosystem, and promote the overall development of the industry.
IPv6 transformation of application infrastructure is an important part of IPv6 scale deployment. As an IT basic platform service provider that carries the main Web application traffic in China, WebSitechnology has started to carry out research on IPv6 related technologies since 2013, and has been committed to providing support for IPv6 transformation of the rest of the industrial chain.
It is worth mentioning that during the conference, Internet technology and Alibaba jointly undertook the Internet application facilities and services sub-forum. At the meeting, Lyu Shibiao, vice president of Webbed technology, stressed that webbed has been rolling out IPv6 transformation products since 2018, including network acceleration, multimedia services, data transmission acceleration and security protection products, the whole product line has supported IPv6. By September, 95% of the company’s CDN nodes have supported IPV6, and it is expected that by the end of 2021, all CDN nodes will realize IPV6 support, and the coverage of IPV6 service capability will reach 100%.
“So far, more than 200 customers have chosen to use IPv6 transformation products, covering many industries including government, finance, radio and television media, education, automobile and so on. “With the full scale deployment of IPv6, industry demand for IPv6 performance and security will continue to rise, and we will continue to focus on application infrastructure innovation and services to ensure the safety and smooth flow of IPv6 ‘superhighway’.” Lu Shibiao pointed out.
It is reported that the China IPv6 Innovation and Development Conference was guided by the Cyberspace Administration of the CPC Central Committee and the National Radio and Television Administration, and hosted by the Expert Committee for promoting IPv6 Scale Deployment. Nearly 500 guests from government departments, central enterprises, basic telecom enterprises, Internet enterprises, scientific research institutions, financial institutions and news media attended the conference. The coordinated development of IPv6 technology, industry, network, application and security is discussed.
