CCTV reporter learned from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) that nine Tencent products have been found to be in violation of regulations in the special rectification of App infringement on users’ rights and interests launched by the Ministry this year, and a total of four batches have been publicly notified, violating the relevant requirements of the information and communication industry in 2021. According to the relevant deployment, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has taken transitional administrative guidance measures for Tencent, requiring that the new App products to be released and the updated version of existing App products should be organized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology before being put on the shelves, and be put on the shelves normally after passing the test.
Tencent said on Monday afternoon that it is continuously upgrading its measures to protect users’ rights and interests through its App and is cooperating with regulators to conduct normal compliance tests. During this period, users can normally download and use the existing version of the App. According to the test, all Tencent apps downloaded in official and other App stores are normal, and there is no case of removal. Users are not affected.
