The installed renewable energy capacity of THE Three Gorges Group exceeds 100 million kw

Wuhan, Jan. 14 (Wang L) According to the news of The Three Gorges Corporation, as of Jan. 12, 2022, the installed capacity of renewable energy exceeded 100 million kW, reaching 104 million kW; In 2021, renewable energy will generate more than 340 billion kilowatt hours of electricity annually, up 9.5 percent year on year, ranking first in the world.

It is estimated that 340 billion KWH of clean electric energy can replace about 100 million tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide by about 280 million tons. From September to December 2021, in the critical period of peak-peak winter and energy supply guarantee, THE Three Gorges Group continued to increase its efforts, and the power generation of some power stations represented by the Three Gorges Hydropower Station reached the highest level in the same period in history. Among them, the three Gorges Power Station will generate more than 100 billion KWH of electricity in 2021, providing a reliable guarantee of clean energy for the smooth operation of China’s economy and society.

Hydropower capacity accounts for nearly 70% of the “gigawatt” of renewable energy installed by THE Three Gorges Group. Up the Yangtze River, five of the six hydropower stations built and operated by the Three Gorges Group — Gezhouba, Three Gorges, Xiangjiaba, Xiluodu, Baihetan and Wudong — are among the world’s top 12 hydropower stations. This means that the Yangtze River basin has become the world’s largest clean energy corridor.

In recent years, the three gorges group continue to speed up the process and development of new energy, total installed capacity of 26 million kilowatts, the production of the completed “the three gorges scenery”, the basic formation in Inner Mongolia, qinghai, gansu, xinjiang in the northwest area, south to the Middle East and photovoltaic “leader” base, uhv power sent channels such as regional sloping land “scenery” layout; In terms of offshore wind power, it has formed a centralized large-scale development layout of offshore wind power from Liaoning province in the north to Guangdong province in the south. China Three Gorges Group has become the country’s largest offshore wind power developer and operator as China’s first mega kilowatt offshore wind farm has been connected to the grid at full capacity in Yangjiang, Guangdong Province.

It is reported that by the end of the 14th Five-Year Plan, the new energy installed capacity of the Three Gorges Group is expected to reach 70 to 80 million kilowatts. (after)
