Xi ‘an, January 15, Xinhua News Agency (reporter Lei Xiaoxiao) Changqing Oilfield, the largest natural gas production base in China, produces more than 150 million cubic meters of natural gas per day, accounting for one-seventh of the country’s total daily gas consumption during the winter peak season, which is equivalent to guaranteeing the daily cooking gas needs of 300 million families.
Changqing Oilfield is the main gas source of the capital Beijing, and is responsible for guaranteeing the livelihood of nearly 400 million people in more than 40 big cities in The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and shaanxi-Gansu-Ningsu-Mongolia-Shanxi region. In 2021, natural gas production will reach 46.543 billion cubic meters, accounting for 23% of China’s total natural gas production.
In order to ensure the safe and stable use of gas for the Beijing Winter Olympics and meet the needs of people’s livelihood, Changqing Oilfield has overcome numerous difficulties and challenges in epidemic control in its work area. More than 8,000 gas field employees have been on duty, conducting online command and intelligent control, and staying on site. More than 24,000 gas Wells in the five major natural gas producing areas have been working at full capacity to increase production and supply. Daily gas output rose from 140 million cubic meters to more than 150 million cubic meters.
In 2021, Changqing Oilfield continued to intensify exploration and development, with proven natural gas reserves of 317.4 billion cubic meters. Sulige gas field and Yulin gas storage have been built successively. At the same time, mizhi – Yulin gas pipeline, which will start construction in 2021, will be put into production on schedule, connecting natural gas from Mizhi and Shenmu gas fields to the Shaanxi-Beijing pipeline, and increasing the daily supply of natural gas from Changqing Oilfield to Beijing to 85 million cubic meters.
